Privacy Notice
Last updated: 25 September 2026
This notice explains which personal data www.echelon.be processes, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
Echelon Labs BV, Hof te Wachenenstraat 22, 9308 Hofstade (Aalst), Belgium. Enterprise number BE 1014.933.566. E-mail [email protected], telephone +32 53 89 00 39.
What we process and why
- When you contact us by e-mail or phone: your name, contact details and what you tell us, to answer your question and, if you become a client, to deliver our services and keep the records the law requires. Legal basis: steps prior to a contract and the contract itself (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and legal obligations such as accounting (art. 6(1)(c)).
- When you visit the site: technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, kept briefly in server and security logs to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Visit statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits (pages viewed, how visitors arrived, country, device type and page speed) without cookies and without identifying or following individual visitors.
The site has no contact forms, no newsletter and no user accounts for visitors. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Cookies
- Cloudflare (
__cf_bm,cf_clearance): security cookies that distinguish people from automated traffic. Strictly necessary; they expire after at most a few hours to a year depending on the check.
The site sets no other cookies: no analytics, advertising or social media cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
Who else receives data
- DreamHost (United States) hosts the website.
- Cloudflare (United States, with servers worldwide) delivers and protects the site and provides the cookieless visit statistics.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
Correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your question, and for clients for the duration of the engagement plus the periods required by law (for example seven years for accounting records). Log data is kept for a short period by the hosting and security providers. Visit statistics contain no personal data.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and receive your data in a portable format. Send your request to [email protected]; we answer within one month.
If you believe we do not handle your data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
